This petition was created by volunteers — ordinary Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica who believe this conversation is worth having. We have no political affiliation, no corporate backing, and no connection to the former Air Jamaica airline or the Government of Jamaica.

Is this an official government initiative?

No. This is a completely independent, grassroots initiative. It has no connection to the Government of Jamaica, any political party, or any government agency.

Is this connected to the former Air Jamaica airline?

No. We have no affiliation with the former Air Jamaica airline, its former owners, employees, creditors, or any related entity. We simply share the name as a reference to what we hope to see restored.

Who can sign?

Anyone can sign — Jamaicans living on the island, members of the diaspora, and international supporters who believe Jamaica deserves its own airline. There are no citizenship or residency requirements.

Does signing cost anything?

No. Signing this petition is completely free. We will never ask you for money, and signing does not create any financial obligation whatsoever.

We collect your first name, last name, email address, city, country, and optionally a comment. We also record your flying intent (whether you would fly Air Jamaica if it returned) and your consent preferences.

Never. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party. Your email address will only be used to send you the thank-you confirmation and, if you opted in, occasional updates about the petition.

We honestly don't know — and that's part of the point. Starting a national airline is enormously complex and expensive. This petition is not a business plan; it's a signal of public interest that we hope will encourage experts, investors, and government to conduct a proper feasibility study.

What happened to Air Jamaica?

Air Jamaica was founded in 1969 and operated for over four decades. It faced persistent financial difficulties and was eventually sold to Caribbean Airlines in 2011. Caribbean Airlines absorbed the routes and the Air Jamaica brand was retired. The airline formally ceased operations in 2015.
