About This Initiative
A grassroots effort to explore whether Jamaica can once again have a national airline.
Bring Back Air Jamaica is an independent public-interest initiative. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the former Air Jamaica airline, its former owners, the Government of Jamaica, or any political party.
Our Story
Air Jamaica was more than an airline. For decades it was a symbol of Jamaican pride — the "Love Bird" that connected the island to the world and carried the warmth of Jamaican culture to every destination it served. When it ceased operations in 2015, it left a gap that many Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica have felt ever since.
This petition was created by ordinary people who believe that conversation about restoring a Jamaican national carrier is worth having. We are not aviation experts, government officials, or investors. We are simply people who love Jamaica and want to see what's possible.
Our goal is straightforward: to demonstrate public interest and encourage the relevant stakeholders — government, private sector, and the diaspora — to seriously explore the feasibility of a new Jamaican national airline.
What We're Trying to Do
Demonstrate Public Support
Gather signatures from Jamaicans at home and abroad, and from friends of Jamaica worldwide, to show that there is genuine public appetite for this idea.
Start a Conversation
Create a credible, data-backed starting point for discussions between government, investors, aviation experts, and the public.
Explore Feasibility
Encourage a transparent, evidence-based study into whether a new Jamaican national carrier is economically viable and in the national interest.
